The Gnome picks every story on this page himself, tells you who said it, and tells you where to go check it.

Rights, corrections, and takedowns

The record and where it comes from

Every record on this site names its source and links to it. The Gnome digs; he does not invent. Headlines are ours, notes are ours, the underlying claims belong to the people who made them, and we say so on every line: claims are claims.

Corrections

A wrong record is corrected in place, and the correction is logged on this page with the date and what changed. We do not quietly edit. If you are the source of a record and we got you wrong, write to mastergnome.news@gmail.com with the record number (it is printed on the record) and what is wrong. The Gnome reads corrections before he reads anything else.

Corrections log:

  • (none yet; the record is clean)

Our own mistakes, the rulings this desk got wrong, live on their own page: /pages/errors. It publishes with its first honest entry and nothing is ever removed from it.

Copyright and takedowns (DMCA)

We link to sources and quote them briefly to report on them. Clips we publish are short excerpts with commentary and credit, made under fair use, and every clip names its source channel and says we are not affiliated with it. If you own something we used and believe the use is not fair, send a notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act to our designated agent:

William Nykaza, DMCA Agent, LineTemp LLC, 306 Pine Street, Deerfield, Illinois 60015, United States. Email: service@linetemp.com. (Registration of this agent with the U.S. Copyright Office's DMCA Designated Agent Directory is in process; this page carries the directory listing the day it posts.)

A complete notice includes: the work you own, where on this site it appears (the URL), your contact details, a statement of good-faith belief that the use is not authorized, a statement under penalty of perjury that you are the owner or act for the owner, and your physical or electronic signature. We act on complete notices promptly and log the removal here. If you sent a notice in error, a counter-notice with the same elements reverses it.

Trademarks and likeness

The Master Gnome is a character. He is not a real person and no real person is depicted as him. We do not use the names, faces, or trade dress of real people, shows, agencies, or companies as our own. If you see your mark on a shirt in the store, that is a mistake and the shirt comes down; write to the corrections address.

The floor

We do not mock the dead. We do not name private people. We report claims as claims. When we fail that floor, the correction runs at the top of the next edition.
